Since a bunch o` folks asked, I thought I'd deliver. This is kinda just
the rhythm guitar, but it'll do just fine. I don't know the wah-wah lead
part (my band's other guitar player does that), but this sounds great.
Notes:
1) I'm not convinced that I'm playing these chords in the right place.
Part of me thinks that the riff is played on the bottom 3 strings,
using E-shape power chords (rather than using the A-shaped chords
I've got below). That would look like this:
C#5 D5 E5 C#5 D5 E5 C#5 D5 E5 C#5 D5 E5 C#5 D5
H q q q q h q q q q h q q q q h q q q q h q q q q
I do it the way I do it because, with the sound I use on my guitar, I
can do a fair approximation of a wah-wah using the chords that result
when you drop all fingers but the barre from the A-shape power chord.
Make sense? Don't worry about it. Below is how I play it. Do what you
want.
2) Play power chords at 8th-note intervals straight throughout the
verses and chorus. I'm not tabbing this out. Cool distortion, though.
3) Despite my rhythm guitar status, I take the solo in this one. It's
short but sweet. I love it.
4) This is one of my favorite vocal performances in a long time. I
think Ms. Phair is vastly underrated as a singer.
